Room 1 Update - Chris Hopkins

Room 1 has been learning a lot about science, mostly matter.

We have learnt that there is five states of matter and they are solid, liquid, gas, plasma and bose-Einstein condensates.

Matter is anything that has weight and takes up space. If you're wondering is air matter? Air is matter because for example if you have two balloons then tie them onto a ruler it is even. But if you take one of the balloons off then blow it up and put it back on the ruler you will see it will be uneven because there is air in one of the balloons.

Matter is made out of atoms which is really really tiny. Atoms are really small balls. There is nothing smaller than a atom. Scientists have really good microscopes so they can see the atoms.

There are three main states of matter and they are Solid, Liquid and Gas. Atoms in Solids are all stuck together and don't get separated. Atoms in Liquids vibrate but don't move. But atoms in Gas move all around.
